Advanced Health Assessment

Three semester hours

This course provides study and practice of advanced level concepts and complex skills that are necessary for comprehensive health assessments with differentiation and interpretation of normal and abnormal findings. Emphasis is placed on history taking, advanced health assessment skills, oral and written communication of findings, and development of collegial relationships with other health professionals. Opportunities are provided to develop skills necessary for the identification of health problems while considering a wide scope of variables including those associated with diverse and multicultural populations. The clinical component of the course provides the opportunity to interpret as well as to practice complex assessment techniques.
