course in Romance Linguistics. If taken for graduate credit, this
course will comprise one of the allowable two courses at the 4000
level taken for graduate credit. |

contemplating doctoral work in Spanish should take six additional
hours in Spanish. Minors may be selected from CRIJ/ENGL/HIST/PSCI//PSYC/SOCI. |

requirement of reading knowledge of a second Romance Language may
be met by completing at least six hours of course work with a grade
of B or higher in one Romance language (French and Portuguese are
currently available at TAMIU) or by passing a departmental reading
exam in one Romance Language. This requirement must be met prior to
beginning work on the thesis. |
