3rd& 4th Grade Earth’s Biosphere: Oceans, Deserts, Rainforests Did you know plants could hear? They can also see and smell! What’s more interesting than learning about the wonders of our planet? Campers will be intrigued as they learn new facts about our planet. They will learn about different types of carnivorous plants, microor- ganisms that strive in extreme conditions and other organisms that live in Earth’s Biosphere. Session 1, Block 1 Session 2, Block 1 Session 3, Block 4 Session 4, Block 4 Lights, Camera, Action Does your child aspire to be in front of the bright lights? In this class, campers will have their time to shine. This will be a month long course. They will be acting in a play, “Lion King,” and will show case what they learned at the end of the session. Parents and family members will have the opportunity to see what their child has learned. Session 1, Block 1 Session 2, Block 1 Session 3, Block 3 Session 4, Block 3 Crime Scene Investigators Campers will solve crime mysteries in this class. They will play the role of forensic detec- tives for two weeks. These young detectives will learn basic civic laws used in these types of cases, the type of crime solving equipment law enforcement uses, and techniques in gathering evidence such as fingerprints, hair follicles, and DNA. CSI comes to TAMIU Junior U this summer! Session 3, Block 2 Session 4, Block 2 Road Trip Adventure Road trip fun! Campers will be packing their suitcases and traveling the world in just a short span of two weeks. Campers will learn about the different countries, what is popular in each country, learn and discuss the variety of music, food, and clothing. Session 1, Block 4 Session 2, Block 4 It’s a Fiesta! Campers will learn about the Hispanic culture. They will make traditional crafts, such as, piña- tas and maracas. They will also learn Spanish vocabulary words, while having fun. Every day is a party as we learn about the different types of fiestas in Hispanic culture. Campers will indulge in the food, clothes, and music of the Hispanic world. No passport needed for this Fiesta! Session 1, Block 3 Session 2, Block 3 Math is Awesome! Polish what teachers taught throughout the scholastic year in this class. Campers review basics such as multiplication tables, division, reducing fractions and even converting into decimals. They will accomplish this by doing hands on activities that will help them gain the knowledge to continue to love the subject. Session 1, Block 3 Session 2, Block 3 Biology Explorers Campers will become biologists for two weeks. Students will learn about cells, plants, the animal life cycle and much more! They will explore the wonders that Biology has to offer other than the human body. Activities will follow each lesson. Session 1, Block 4 Session 2, Block 4 3RD AND 4TH GRADE
