Summer Education PPR Boot Camp

The Summer Education Pedagogy and Professional Responsibility (PPR) Boot Camp is a weeklong program to better prepare students for the experience of being a highly effective science teacher. The workshop will offer ten 3-hour sessions covering six test domains. Both concepts and applications of the corresponding general science standards are reviewed; test taking strategies are taught; example and exercises are provided and explained; a practice test is given and graded; and a brief performance report is provided to each participant.

By participating in this boot camp, the internship recipients will get a head start on developing their teaching skills with their exposure to well-known classroom teaching practices, introduction to new technology and how to incorporate it into a classroom, and learn how to manage time wisely to maximize their potential for success.
