Hello! My name is Ella, and I want to tell you about my BIG BRIGHT STAR.
It all started when I was a little girl. This is my dad. We were best friends. We did everything together!
Anytime there were fireworks, we would go watch them. I would always call them BIG BRIGHT STARS.
As I got older, my dad got sick. There were times where my family and I did not know if he was going to make it.
But even though he was sick, he always made sure we got see the BIG BRIGHT STARS.
This past summer was different. My dad could not take me to see the BIG BRIGHT STARS. That is how I knew something was wrong.
This past summer, my dad passed away. Ever since then, my life has changed completely.
I could not go see the BIG BRIGHT STARS with my dad anymore. In fact, I could not do anything with him anymore.
One night, I decided to go outside and look up at the sky to talk to my dad.
That was when I noticed a BIG BRIGHT STAR in the sky. It was not a firework. It was a real star.
I quickly ran inside to tell my mom what I saw. When my mom looked at the star, she told me that it was my dad watching over us.
Ever since that night, I go outside every night to look at the BIG BRIGHT STAR and say hi to my dad.
This story was written about my dad. He passed away July 23, 2022. I understand what it is to lose someone who you care about deeply. I also know that there are many children who are struggling with the loss of a loved one. I wrote this story to help children know that it is okay to not have that person there with you anymore. Even though they are not with you, they are watching over you and making sure you are doing okay.
