Dedication Page Dedicated to: All the boys and girls who have autism. You are worth it. 2022
Theodore will be starting 3rd grade this year. He is different from other children.
Theodore has autism, but that doesn’t stop him from learning. He just needs a little bit more help.
He uses pictures to help him out during the day. One day a classmate named Liam, saw his pictures and asked him, “What are those pictures for?”
Theodore told him, “I use these pictures to help me out during the day.” “At 10:00A.M. I know it is time for Math because there are numbers next to the time,” said Theodore.
Liam loves to draw. He asked, “Do you want me to draw out your schedule?” Theodore smiled because he just made a new friend who would help him out.
Theodore said, “I stay after school because my mom works.” “I stay after school, too,” said Liam.
The two of them were so happy. Liam said, “We will start drawing today after school.” Theodore smiled.
It was after school already when Theodore and Liam found a table to sit down together. Liam took out his drawing pad and all his crayons and markers. Theodore watched with the biggest smile on his face.
“Let’s start with breakfast, what is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?” asked Liam. “I love when we eat cereal for breakfast,” said Theodore.
Liam started to draw a bowl of cereal and some milk next to the time 7:45A.M. for breakfast.
The two boys drew and colored together until Theodore got picked up first by his mom. “Mom!” yelled Theodore. “I made a new friend and his name is Liam, he helped me draw a new schedule to use during the day,” said Theodore.
“I can’t wait to see the drawings whenever we get home,” said Theodore’s mom as they walked to the car. Theodore went home so happy and could not wait to come back to school the next day to see his friend Liam. He was so happy that someone from his class was nice to him.
