Claudia San Miguel, Ph.D. Dean, College of Arts and Sciences One of the most salient features of academic life is the pursuit of new knowledge as expressed through research, scholarly, and creative activities. In the College of Arts and Sciences (COAS), this new knowledge is typically manifested in various forms and artifacts such as peer-reviewed research articles, scholarly publications, academic books and monographs, creative pieces, art work, performance, patents, and even in highly competitive grants—both research and programmatic.
