TAMIU Spring 2023 Commencement Program

DISTINGUISHED STUDENT SCHOLARS Manuel Arturo Escobedo University College Originally from Laredo, Manuel is the son of Manuel and María Escobedo. He attended United High School and today earns a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies, gradu- ating Cum Laude with a 3.55 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, he participated in a service-learning program at Laredo Inde- pendent School District’s Martin High School, where he created an informational pamphlet to combat truancy and educate parents on the consequences that truancy can bring to their children. In pursuit of his degree, Manuel received the Lacey Cigarroa Keck Scholarship. Upon graduation, he plans to continue his professional career as an educator. Manuel’s longtime goal is to become a secondary education counselor.
