TAMIU Spring 2025 Commencement Program

DISTINGUISHED STUDENT SCHOLARS Camila Alejandra Treviño College of Arts & Sciences Originally from Laredo, Camila Alejandra Treviño is the daughter of Virginia and Ricardo Treviño and graduated from United High School in May 2022. Today, as a proud first- generation student, she earns a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.84 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, Camila was actively involved in the Texas Association of Future Educators Chapter and TRiO Student Support Services. She was also employed as a TRiO Writing Tutor and completed Clinical Teaching internships at local middle and high schools. Awarded the merit-based Achievement Scholarship, Camila also earned placement on the Dean’s List on four occasions. Upon graduation, Camila plans to begin her professional career as an educator in a school district. Her long-term goal is to pursue a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, and perhaps a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership. Jaqueline Salinas College of Education A Laredo native, Jaqueline Salinas is the daughter of Rebeca and Baldemar Salinas. She graduated from John B. Alexander High School in 2021. Today, she earns a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Bilingual Emphasis, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, Jaqueline was a member of TRIO SSS and a Reading the Globe Ambassador. She participated in the Reading the Globe Study Abroad program in Singapore, the LBV Literacy Partnership, and the TRIO SSS UNIDOS Conference in Chicago. She received a President’s Volunteer Service Award for completing more than 300 community service hours, a Trailblazer recognition for earning multiple patches, and a cord as a fully certified educator. Upon graduation, Jaqueline plans to begin her professional career as a bilingual elementary teacher. Her longtime goal is to become a reading interventionist and empower the minds of young children.
