Distance Education and Instructional Technology 5 The Distance Education and Instructional Technology Committee (DEITC) is comprised of 15 members: one representative per College or free-standing academic unit, one member of the Faculty Senate, the Chair of the University Curriculum Committee, the Associate VPAA (or designee), and one representative from the Office of Graduate Studies and Research. The Director of Instructional Technology and Distance Education serves as ex-officio and acts as co-chair with a member appointed by the Faculty Senate. The DEITC was created to review and recommend procedures for online course development, quality standards, and evaluation mechanisms. This C ommittee was created in January 2011 and has adopted guidelines for quality in online and hybrid courses based on the Quality Matters Rubric as well as guidelines for accessibility compliance. Meetings are held the last Monday of the month (except during Summer).
