Dr. Mustafa Al Lail - Since he joined TAMIU in the Fall of 2018, Dr. Mustafa Al Lail has supervised 12 undergraduate research projects to pave the way for TAMIU students to enroll in graduate schools and prepare them for the workforce. To be an effective research supervisor, he has developed his mentoring style by reflecting on his experiences as a mentee during graduate school and as a professor at TAMIU. He has enhanced his style and skills by implementing many of the best practices of mentoring that he has acquired through the mentoring training and experiences he has so far with students. Mr. Juan Arellano - Mathematics instructor at TAMIU since fall 2016. Research interests in Mathematics Education and teacher development programs. 2020 Instructional Technology Excellence Award recipient. Dr. Ashlee Boothe - Dr. Boothe has 15 years of experience in education as a CTE educator, administrator, curriculum writer, competitive events coordinator, director of curriculum, and school improvement. Dr. Jenel Cavazos - Dr. Jenel Cavazos is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Oklahoma. As the Introductory Psychology Program Coordinator, she teaches an average of 1500 students per year, maintains the program curriculum, and con- ducts a teaching mentor program. Her research interests include the scholarship of teaching and learning and the impact of mental imagery on study habits and memory. Dr. Heriberto Godina - Assistant Professor of Curriculum & Instruction in the College of Education at Texas A&M International University. Dr. Godina holds active Texas teaching certificates for Reading, English, and ESL, and he has been recognized by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards for contributions toward exemplary teaching in public schools. Dr. Yong Chen - Received his Ph.D. degree (2018) in Business Administration (Information Systems) from Old Dominion Universi- ty in Norfolk, Virginia. Since 2012, he has taught face-to-face courses and online courses at Old Dominion University. He values the principle "learn by doing." He positions himself as a facilitator for student learning. Ms. Elizabeth DeZouche - Elizabeth has been at Killam Library for three and half years as the Information Literacy Librarian. Her research interests include teaching and learning theories, like adult, online learning, Open Educational Resources (OER), and li- brary user information needs, uses, and behaviors during the Pandemic. Dr. Lauren May - Dr. May is an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction in the Department of Educational Programs at TAMIU. Dr. Mehnaaz Momen - Mehnaaz Momen teaches Political Science and Public Administration at TAMIU since 2002. She has au- thored books on citizenship, political satire, and the border city of Laredo. Dr. Cynthia L. Piña - Dr. Piña has 20+ years experience in the education as an educator and instructional technology specialist. She is a College of Education Instructional Assistant Professor, teaching undergraduate student teachers and graduate students. Dr. Piña provides service thru her expertise in curriculum and instruction and technology. She is on several committees from the A&M System to the university and college levels. In further service to the education field and community, she serves on the Board of Directors representing area 1 for TCEA! Dr. Shuhong Luo and Dr. Marivic Torregosa - Dr. Luo got her master's degree in Nursing Informatics and doctoral degree in Instructional Design and Technologies. She currently teaches pre-nursing students Pathophysiology. Dr. Torregosa is the Dean of College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Dr. Donovan Weight - Graduated with a Ph.D. in History from Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he focused on Early America, Atlantic America, and African America. He came to TAMIU in 2013 and teaches survey courses of American History and upper division courses related to Early America and race and ethnicity in America.
