Summer Assistance for 2022


  • Federal Pell grant (is available to students pursuing their first Bachelor's degree):
    •  Undergraduate students enrolled for at least six (6) hours and a 2021-2022 EFC of less than 5201.
    •  Undergraduate students enrolled for less than (6) hours with a 2021-2022 EFC of less than 3901, and who did not use their full Pell grant allocation during fall 2021 and spring 2022.
    •  Undergraduate students enrolled for less than (6) hours and who used their full Pell grant allocation during fall 2021 and spring 2022, must have a complete 2022-2023 file and EFC of less than 4101 to qualify.

  • Federal SEOG Grant (up to $250):
    • Undergraduate students who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant and have the greatest need based on EFC based on their 2021-2022 FAFSA. Limited Funding.

  •  Getting Ahead scholarship (up to $500):
    • Undergraduate Students, eligibility based on funding, 3.0 GPA and enrollment. Priority given to those students enrolled for at least nine (9) hours. Limited Funding.

  • TPEG Dusty Grant (up to $1,000):
    • Undergraduate Texas residents who demonstrate financial aid need with TASFA application. Limited funding.

  • Texas Resident Undergraduate Summer Grant (up to $1,000):
    • Undergraduate Texas residents who demonstrate financial aid need with FAFSA application and do not qualify for the Federal Pell Grant. Limited funding.

  • TEXAS Grant:
    • For current eligible TEXAS grant recipients, that enroll in 9 or more hours. Cancellation of the full grant will occur when the student drops below 9 hours. Limited funding.

  • Work-study Employment:
    • Must enroll at least 3 hours in one of the summer sessions in order to continue employment. Must meet other eligibility requirements.

  • Federal Direct Loans (leftover from annual limit not borrowed during fall and spring):
    • Undergraduate students must enroll for at least six (6) hours.
    • Graduate students must enroll for at least three (3) hours.

  • College Access Loans:
  • Emergency Loans
    • The Bursar’s Office will be offering emergency loans for tuition & fees as well as for books.

  • Alternative private loans
NOTE: To be eligible students must meet our Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy and be degree-seeking.
