Summer Assistance for 2021


  • Pell grant (is available to students pursuing their first Bachelor's degree):
    • Undergraduate students enrolled for at least six (6) hours and a 2020-2021 EFC of less than 5101.
    • Undergraduate students enrolled for less than (6) hours with a 2020-2021 EFC of less than 3801, and who did not use their full Pell grant allocation during fall 2020 and spring 2021.
    • Undergraduate students enrolled for less than (6) hours and who used their full Pell grant allocation during fall 2020 and spring 2021, must have a complete 2021-2022 file and EFC of less than TBA to qualify.

  • Direct Loans (left over from annual limit not borrowed during fall and spring):
    • Undergraduate students enrolled for at least six (6) hours.
    • Graduate students enrolled for at least three (3) hours.
  • Parent PLUS loans:
  •  Getting Ahead scholarship (up to $500):
    • Undergraduate Students, eligibility based on funding, GPA and enrollment. Priority given to those students enrolled for at least nine (9) hours.
  • Texas Resident Summer grant:
    • Undergraduate Texas residents who demonstrate financial aid need. Priority given to those students who are not eligible for Pell grant.

  • College Access Loans:
  • Emergency Loans
    • The Bursar’s Office will be offering emergency loans for tuition & fees as well as for books.

  • Alternative private loans

NOTE: To be eligible students must meet our Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy and be degree-seeking.
