Free Grants Workshop Offered for Arts, Cultural Groups at TAMIU Oct. 16

Registration Underway for Free Grants Workshop
for Cultural, Education and Arts Organizations

Grant writers for cultural, education and arts organizations in the Laredo area are encouraged to register for a free grants workshop at Texas A&M International University’s Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall 116 Friday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Deadline to register is Oct. 15.

Humanities Texas and the Texas Commission on the Arts will present the workshop.

Humanities Texas director of grants and education Dr. Eric Lupfer and Texas Commission on the Arts program administrator Mia Marisol Buentello will discuss grant opportunities provided by their respective organizations.

The state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, Humanities Texas has awarded more than 2,000 grants to Texas organizations for public programs grounded in history, literature and other humanities disciplines.

Recent grant recipients in the region include the Laredo Public Library, Texas A&M International University, Hecho en Encinal and Uvalde’s El Progresso Memorial Library.

TCA stands committed to “investing in a creative Texas.”

The Commission has funded arts organizations across the state from small, rural communities to large, metropolitan cities. TCA strives toward equitable distribution of services and financial assistance to geographically isolated municipalities and ethnically specific communities.
