TAMIU Sanchez School of Business
Lectures Offer Insight into Business

Take the opportunity to listen to business experts present their research papers at a series of research presentations offered by the Texas A&M International University A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business.

All lectures will be held in Western Hemispheric Trade Center (WHTC), room 103 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Admission to the lectures is free and open to the public.

“The presentations serve as a forum for business faculty and Ph.D. students to present their research papers and receive comments from other professors,” said Dr. Jorge Brusa, associate professor, division of international banking and finance studies.

“This series could be of interest for faculty in other fields, graduate students and professional businessmen,” Dr. Brusa added.

The lecture schedule is as follows:

Friday, Oct. 23—Dr. Pablo Camacho, assistant professor of economics, “Are Chinese Exports to the U.S. Displacing México’s?”

Friday, Oct. 30—Dr. Abhitjit M. Patwardhan, assistant professor of marketing, “National Culture, Organization Structure, and Innovation: A Contingency Theory Perspective.”

Friday, Nov. 6—Dr. Andres Rivas-Chávez, assistant professor of finance and economics, “REIT and Momentum Strategies: Does Investor Sentiment Modify this Relationship?”

Friday, Nov. 13—Dr. Michael M. Grayson, assistant professor of accounting, “Determinants of Compensation Paid to Bank CEOs.”

Friday, Nov. 20—Dr. George R. Clarke, Killam Distinguished Associate Professor, “Zambia Corruption and Informality.”
