For 5th Year, TAMIU Awarded Military Friendly School Designation

Military Friendly

For the fifth year in a row, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) has earned the 2016 Military Friendly® Schools designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I Jobs, STEM Jobs and Military Spouse. TAMIU was recognized for exhibiting leading practices in recruiting and supporting post-military students and spouses.

This fall, there are 83 undergraduate and 23 graduate student veterans and 133 veteran’s dependents enrolled at TAMIU. The top five majors are criminal justice, business administration, psychology, nursing and education.

Now in its seventh year, institutions competed for the elite Military Friendly® School title by completing a survey of more than 100 questions covering 10 categories, including military support on campus, graduation and employment outcomes, and military spouse policies. Survey responses were scored against benchmarks across these key indicators of success.

The list of Military Friendly® Schools is available at
