Explore the Cosmos at TAMIU Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium Monday, March 11

This Spring Break, visit Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium with your family and explore space and the universe.

The Planetarium will be open for Spring Break on Monday, March 11 only and movies will run from 12-3 p.m. 

Planetarium dome show ticket prices are $5 for general admission, $4 for children ages 3-12, $3 for teachers and $3 for veterans.

Shows and times are the following:

 

12 p.m. – “Phantom of the Universe/Mayan Archaeoastronomy”

1 p.m. – “Space Next”

2 p.m. – “Back to the Moon for Good”

3 p.m. – “Black Holes”

 

TAMIU Planetarium features a theater where sights and sounds are created digitally and displayed in a dome covered with breathtaking images and the audience is immersed in surround sound. The Digistar 3 system at the Planetarium can take audiences on a fantastic voyage through the cosmos.

Designed as a state-of-the-art, 21st Century digital planetarium instrument, Digistar 3 uses powerful graphics hardware and software to generate immersive, full-dome images on the interior surface of a dome, integrating all-come video, real-time 3D computer graphics, and a complete digital astronomy experience.
