School’s out and  summer programs for children are underway.

Parents can still register children for the July session of  Texas A&M International University’s  (TAMIU) ‘Dusty’s Junior University.’

Camp sessions are July 1 - 11 and July 15 - 25.

Each session is Monday – Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents can also opt for aftercare, provided until 5:30 p.m. daily, for an additional fee. The deadline for registration for the July camp sessions is Monday, June 17.

Whether it be creating colorful masterpieces in the Little Picassos class, studying marine biology in Extreme Sharks and Sea Creatures course, or exercising budding musical skills as ‘Dusty’s Musicians,’ Summer Camp offers classes for all interests and grade levels, ranging from K-12.

A complete list of courses for K-12 students, including online camp registration and cost information, is available at https://www.tamiu.edu/ce/summer-camp.shtml

Michelle Begwin, TAMIU Continuing Education administrative associate, noted that students create their class schedule by choosing four classes to take throughout the day.

“Our Summer Camp is a unique venue for growth, allowing kids to become independent and self-confident. Students will have an opportunity to socialize, make new friends and learn new knowledge and skills so that they can start the academic year ahead,” Begwin noted.

Students can choose to bring their lunch and snacks, or parents can purchase a meal plan. Parents must obtain meal plan before Summer Camp sessions start.
