For the past 50 years, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) has helped shape its community and continues to create “A World of Difference” in the lives of its former students, faculty members, staff members and University family members.

In honor of its 50th Anniversary Celebration, TAMIU invites individuals to submit their stories as part of its “Share Your Story” campaign.

“Through three distinct identities and two campuses, through degree programs and experiences, the University’s story is best represented by the lives of those it has impacted,” said Steve Harmon of the University’s Office of Public Relations, Marketing and Information Services.

“From students and graduates to faculty, administrators, community partners and the craftsmen who helped build our campus, we’re looking forward to sharing all those stories. Individually and combined, they create our University’s story…and that’s the story of a lifetime,” Harmon concluded.

Submissions can be made online at http://50.tamiu.edu/yourstory.

Stories can be based on an inspiring faculty member, how your degree has changed your life, a Study Abroad Experience, your time in a student organization, a moment here that changed your world or simply a shared memory of time spent at the University over the past 50 years.

Those submitting stories are also highly encouraged to upload a photo or video file that compliments their shared story.

Individual stories may be featured on the University’s official social media accounts and the dedicated 50th Anniversary webpage. Throughout the 50th Anniversary Celebration, use the hashtag #TAMIU50 to tag social media postings.

To keep up with the University’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, visit the dedicated website at tamiu.edu/50, and follow TXAMIU via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.
