The Halloween season continues at TAMIU with the observance of Wicked Wellness Week.

Wicked Wellness Week is an annual event that brings awareness and knowledge on topics related to wellness, including preventative and mental health.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, a Health and Information Fair with free flu vaccines by Student Health Services, will be offered from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Student Center rotunda. Students should bring their student ID.

A blood drive benefiting the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center will take place through Wednesday, Oct. 28 – 30 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Student Center parking lot.

Also Wednesday, an information session, “It Can Be A Nightmare” will be shared by University Student Counseling and Disability Services at noon in the Academic Innovation Center, room 127. The talk focuses on the effects of alcohol and drug use.

Wicked Wellness Week concludes Thursday, Oct. 31 with an Altar De Muertos on display from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Student Center Rotunda. Several fun activities are also in store, including a photo booth and DIY Calavera decorations.

Wicked Wellness Week follows on the successful heels of Monday's  Halloween Fest, directed by the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement (SOLE) and the student-led Campus Activities Board (CAB).

“As a premier student-led event at TAMIU, Halloween Fest is a family-friendly experience that entertains all who attend. Community support is vital to the success of the event each year as it continues to provide TAMIU students with real-world skill development that they may utilize later on in their careers,” observed Dr. Nicholas Hudson, Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement director.
