Spotify’s ‘The Opening Act Roadshow’ at TAMIU Monday

Professionals from the internationally-renowned music streaming site, Spotify, will be at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Monday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. in the Academic Innovation Center, rooms 127 and 128.

The Spotify team will be talking about their experiences as part of “The Opening Act Roadshow” which serves as an opportunity to discuss what potential career paths in these fields look like while gaining insight as to how to begin a career in these industries.

Individuals will participate in various panels, workshops and network opportunities throughout the conference experience. Additionally, a raffle drawing for an Apple Watch will take place.

Participants interested in careers in the music, technology or media industries, are encouraged to sign up at http://tinyurl.com/y6f4g86e to reserve their spot.

The event is organized through TAMIU’s Office of Career Services. Opportunities to meet with global businesses like Spotify are definitely something to be taken advantage of, explained Career Services director Yeltiza Howard.

“It is exciting to see a globally recognized company like Spotify take interest in our students.  This visit is a fantastic way for students to learn more about the industry, the future of audio and music, and what Spotify has to offer,” explained Howard.

Spotify’s “The Opening Act Roadshow” has welcomed students attending both Historically Black Colleges and Hispanic-Serving Institutions like TAMIU.

Spotify is a digital music, podcast and video streaming platform that gives its users access to millions of songs and digital content across the world.
