TAMIU Celebrates Global Exchange with International Education Week Nov. 18 - 21

Parade of Flags

Several culturally-focused activities are slated for International Education Week at Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Student Center Monday - Thursday, Nov. 18 - 21.

The annual, week-long celebration is part of a nationwide commemoration designated by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote international education and exchange worldwide.

This year’s theme celebrates the benefits of global exchange.

Triana Valdéz, TAMIU director of International Engagement, said the University holds International Education Week to celebrate diversity, multiculturalism, and create awareness of other cultures in order to better understand our role in a global society.

University students and faculty members who have studied abroad also will share their experiences throughout the week. Representatives of study abroad providers, Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA) Customized Educational Programs Abroad (CEPA) and Worldstrides ISA, will visit our campus and have presentations to better educate our community on international programs.

Participants are encouraged to participate in a scavenger hunt activity through the Eventzee App via code IEW 2019.
