Classical Musicians Offer Joint Concert at TAMIU Tonight

Classical music duo Dr. Carlos Audi and Adam Booher take the stage for an upcoming Master Performers Series Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

Admission is free and open to the community.

The concert features a selection of well-known classical pieces with Audi on cello and Booher on piano. Included are compositions by J. S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann and more.

Together, they have performed in duo performances at universities and recital halls in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas.

Audi has performed extensively throughout Europe, North and South America, in both solo and chamber concerts. He has served as a member of the Orquestra Sinfônicade Santo André, the Orquestra Experimental de Repertório, the Orquestra Sinfônica da Universidade de São Paulo, the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tallahassee, Augusta and Albany Symphony Orchestras, and the Opera Tampa Orchestra.

Born in Brazil, Audi began studying music at the age of seven. He holds a Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University. Currently, he serves on the music faculty at Florida College, Hillsborough Community College, and Hillsborough County Public Schools.

Adam Booher

Booher has regularly performed as a pianist alongside Audi. He is an active member of both local and state music teacher associations. He serves as an adjudicator for both district and state concerto competitions and the National Federation of Music Clubs Auditions.

He has received various awards at the Intersection of Jazz and Classical Piano Festival, Florida MTNA Young Artist Competition, and the Beethoven Club of Memphis Young Artist Competition.

He received his Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Florida State University. Currently, he serves as a professor of music at Florida College. 

The Master Performer Series is offered by the TAMIU College of Arts and Sciences’ department of Fine and Performing Arts.
