Over 800 candidates for graduation from Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will participate in next week’s Summer and Fall 2019 Commencement Exercises at the Sames Auto Arena (SAA) on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 4 p.m.

Commencement Speaker for the Fall Exercises is State Senator Judith Zaffirini (D-Laredo).

She earned her B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.

TAMIU student respondent for the Ceremony is Nelly Salazar, representing University College and earning a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies with concentrations in English, History and Philosophy. Salazar is the recipient of several University scholarships and a member of the University Honors Program, Phi Kappa Phi and Reading the Globe.
