TAMIU Named Among Tops in Nation by 2020 Collegiate Advertising Awards

The 2020 Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA), an elite, national program recognizing higher education  for excellence in advertising, communications, marketing, and promotions of their schools, has named Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) one of its top award recipients.

TAMIU’s Office of Public Relations, Marketing and Information Services and Office of Student Success received four international awards in the competition: a Gold for Newspaper Advertising; a Gold for COVID-19 Response Signage; a Silver for the TAMIU Dustdevil Diversity and Inclusion Website, and a Silver for the Office of Student Success’ Recruitment Campaign 2021.

The 2020 CAA program received entries from the United States and Canada representing  a broad spectrum of community colleges, large schools and universities. 

Submissions were reviewed and judged by a national panel of industry experts, with a possibility of 100 total points. TAMIU’s entries competed against similar-sized organizations in specific groups and categories. Awards were issued for entries receiving top marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Judging criteria included creativity, design and layout, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

Gold Award recipients must score 95 to 99 and are in the top 5% of the nation. Silver award recipients score 90 – 94 and are in the top 12% of the nation.   

“Representing all areas of communications, medias, marketing, advertising and promotions, the 2020 Collegiate Advertising Awards program contained some of the best advertising projects arguably in the world.  The Collegiate Advertising Awards is pleased to recognize the outstanding creative achievements of Texas A&M International University,” the CAA site observes.

TAMIU’s PR office has recently been recognized with nine national awards earned in the 36th Annual Educational Advertising Awards and nine additional national awards from the 8th Annual Educational Digital Marketing Awardscompetition. To date this year, TAMIU PR has earned 21 awards.

Clamont, design and brand manager; Rory King, director of web; Ana M. Vargas, associate director of web; Christine Rojas,  social media manager; Rolando Santos, photographer and videographer; Andrea Martínez, designer, and Edelmiro Santos, web specialist. Daniel Tijerina of the Office for Student Success was awarded in the CAA competition.
