Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is encouraging its students to help end the COVID-19 Pandemic by being part of a safe and vaccinated campus community.

Dubbed “Be A Champ, Get the Shot,”  the campaign is part of the University's participation in the National College COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge.  It will provide participating students entry into multiple drawings throughout the Fall Semester, offering a range of prizes, including Dusty Dollars, Gift Cards from the campus coffee shop and free tuition.

“We’re joining campuses across the nation in this College Vaccine Challenge created by the U.S. Department of Education.  Like our partner campuses, we’re committed to engaging with our campus community, organizing TAMIU for action and delivering on-campus vaccine access,” said University president Dr. Pablo Arenaz.

“We know our community has suffered tremendously with the COVID-19 Pandemic and believe that we have truly turned the corner on this dreaded disease.  We all have a real sense of optimism about a return to a life of expectations.  This campaign is all about encouraging protection of one’s self and others.  We think that’s consistent with our Dustdevil team spirit and giving tradition,” he added.

To participate in the drawings, students upload their proof of vaccination on a secure site.  They’ll then be entered into multiple prize drawings conducted throughout the Fall semester.
