Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) recently hosted a binational Logistics gathering that welcomed representatives of Logistics companies and organizations from various groups or "clusters" located in México and Laredo.

The Binational Alliance of Logistics Clusters Summit took place from November 4-5th at TAMIU. Attending were Logistics Clusters representatives of the Mexican states of San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Tamaulipas and Laredo, Texas.

The Summit provided an opportunity for professionals in the Logistics industry to hear presentations and data from colleagues. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed to establish a collaboration between the Logistics Clusters.

The Agreement will allow TAMIU and the Logistics Clusters to engage in collaborative exchange in the development of research projects and exchange information materials, as well as participate in joint educational programs and community-related projects.

"The Binational Alliance seeks to generate a common dialogue that will support and expand their communication, supply chains and logistics processes within the framework of the United States-México-Canada Agreement (USMCA)," said María Eugenia Calderón-Porter, TAMIU assistant vice president for the Office for Global Initiatives.

Clusters representatives also agreed to work on a mission statement and bylaws for the Alliance and have them ready for a planned meeting in February 2022 in Querétaro.
