Annual Day of Enrichment for University Employees

Texas A&M International University will celebrate its employees with Staff Enrichment Day on Friday, May 28 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Spring 2004 semester will be over and Summer I not yet started as TAMIU employees take a moment to come together and learn about topics such as diversity, safety and leadership. While University offices will remain open, staff will be greatly reduced, as all full-time employees are encouraged to participate.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Larry Helms, an expert in the field of industrial psychology and personal development programs. His presentation is entitled "Maintaining Excellence at the Speed of Change" and will discuss customer service, excellence, and coping with change.

In the afternoon, employees will break into smaller groups and participate in workshops such as "BaFá-BaFá: Embracing Differences at TAMIU," conducted by Dr. Terence Hannigan, director of Student Counseling Services; "Ergonomic Basics: Staying Safe and Healthy at Work," with Dr. Gordon Vos, assistant professor at the Texas A&M University System's Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, "Working on Team TAMIU," run by Dean Allen, president of Dale Carnegie Training of South Texas and "Leadership Skills: What it Takes to Take the Lead," featuring Bob Hackett, executive vice president of Dale Carnegie Training of South Texas.
