TAMIU-SBDC Sets Business Plan
Workshop Friday, August 22

The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) will sponsor a business plan workshop Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the TAMIU Western Hemispheric Trade Center room 103.

Fee for the seminar is $20, and each participant will receive Linda Pinzon’s “Anatomy of a Business Plan: a Step-by-Step Guide to Building a Business and Securing your Company’s Future,” a $50 value.

Planning is the map to success in the business world. One needs to write a business plan when:

  • Starting or buying a business
  • Financing or refinancing a business
  • Raising debt or equity capital.

Richard Pérez, director of the TAMIU-SBDC, explains that a business plan helps one find hidden business flaws and makes one think carefully about each phase of a business.

“It is important that one write a business plan in order to gain in-depth knowledge about one’s business – thus making it easier to answer lenders’ questions. The process of writing one’s business plan will clarify what is involved in making a business work successfully,” Pérez said.
