TAMIU Open House Aug. 6 Marks
Biggest University Event Before School Starts

Up-and-coming Dustdevils, future students, parents and the community are invited to attend an exciting event to know more about Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and its offerings Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC).

The TAMIU Open House, free and open to the public, will be from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Freshmen in the Class of 2015 can sign up for the University Boot Camp at the event and enjoy access to résumé and essay workshops, scholarship opportunities, one-on-one academic advising, a financial aid walk-through and career advising.

“This is the biggest TAMIU event before the school year begins,” said Scheiby Fisher, director of Recruitment and School Relations, “We encourage the community to visit our campus and learn about services, program offerings, and opportunities available to students at TAMIU.”

Fisher said Open House participants can also expect Q&A sessions with TAMIU representatives, receive information on The College Placement Exam, guides for parents in English and Spanish, tips on how to succeed in college and register for Fall classes at TAMIU.

“We will also have special giveaways, bookstore discounts, raffles, and refreshments,” Fisher said.

TAMIU Fall classes begin Wednesday, Aug. 27. Registration continues through Aug. 29.

Summer University office hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. – noon on Fridays.
