CHANGEMAKERS

Since the fall of 2015, we have helped empower Dustdevils in different ways, including establishing the first scholarship endowment in TAMIU history.

INNOVATORS

Some of the newest traditions brought to TAMIU thanks to SPC include Random Acts of Kindness Week, Penny Wars, and #TAMIUGivingTuesday.

MOTIVATORS

We inspire students to give back to TAMIU and join us in our mission to advance the University and student philanthropic support.

PENNY WARS

Every fall semester, all colleges and schools at TAMIU "go to war."  The objective is to raise the most funds by donating spare change to your college.  Since 2015, over $8,500 has been donated!  Previous winners include the College of Arts & Sciences and University College.

#GIVINGTUESDAY

SPC plays an important role in TAMIU's giving day.  Councilmembers spend the day advocating for this great event and inspiring others to make a donation.  Additionally, in 2018, every single SPC member made a donation to something they care about!

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK

This staple SPC event occurs every spring.  For the whole week, we not only dedicate ourselves to committing acts of kindness, but we also inspire others to do the same.  Previous activities include handing our midterm goodie bags, free hugs day, and spot a rock!
