The Office of Student Orientation, Leadership, and Engagement (SOLE) hosts numerous co-curricular programs while working hand in hand with other University organizations and offices to provide the best experience to TAMIU students.

Welcome Week

Held at the start of each academic year, this serves as the kick-off to the fall semester.  Working with Campus Activities Board and other University partners events are scheduled throughout the week to help welcome new and returning students to TAMIU.  Past events include:

  • Information Tent (campus maps, water, etc.)
  • Welcome Back BBQ
  • Hypnotist Performance
  • Caricature Artist
  • Spray Paint Can Artist
  • Photo Flip Books

Involvement Week

Held during the second week of each fall semester, this week focuses on student involvement at TAMIU. Partners include Campus Activities Board, International Engagement, Student Government Association, and Student Conduct and Community Engagement. Events include:

  • Wednesday - Service Fair
  • Thursday - Student Organization Fair

Wicked Wellness Week

In collaboration with Recreational Sports, Student Health Services, Student Conduct and Community Engagement, International Engagement, Student Counseling Services and Campus Activities Board, this is a week-long event that promotes a healthy lifestyle amongst all TAMIU students.  Events include the following:

  • Blood Sucking Monday Blood Drive
  • STI Awareness
  • Tales from the Crypt (Doctor's Panel and Lunch)
  • Halloween Fesitval
  • Fight the Fright (Vaccinations)
  • Get Well with Study Abroad

Resolutions Week

In collaboartion with Recreational Sports, Student Conduct and Community Engagement, Writing Center, Career Services, Student Health Services, University Learning Center, and Student Counseling Services this celebration encourages students to commit the new year to a new, healthy lifestyle.

Spirit Week

Each Spring Semester, the University hosts an annual celebration to commemorate Dustdevil spirit and pride at TAMIU.  Working in collaboration with the Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association, University Athletics, and other campus partners the following fesitivies are held:

  • Monday - SGA Shopping Cart Parade Decorating Party and voting for Mr. and Ms. TAMIU
  • Tuesday - SGA Shopping Cart Parade and After Party and voting for Mr. and Ms. TAMIU
  • Wednesday - CAB Pep-Rally and voting for Mr. and Ms. TAMIU
  • Thursday - Spirit Week Tailgate, Basketball games, Mr. and Ms. TAMIU Coronaton, and CAB Spirit Week After Party

Emerging Leaders Celebration

Held at the end of each Spring Semester, students are recognized for participating in the numerous leadership programs available at the University.  The leadership groups include:
