FAQs»

How do I join?

Becoming a social media ambassador is easy! Simply fill out this form and we will contact you with more information.

Are there any requirements?

No, we simply ask that you attend our meetings and remain engaged with our crowdfunding efforts.  We will have an unofficial form of communication (e.g. Facebook Group) with the expectation that ambassadors will use it to communicate with our office and each other.

How often do you meet?

We will meet once or twice a semester. Since our campaigns take place on a digital platform, we will communicate with ambassadors on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on the number of live campaigns.  That said, we do expect our ambassadors to constantly check their email and be involved in the group chats so that they do not miss out on important information.

Do I need to be a donor?

We understand that sometimes people can only give their time.  However, if you are able to make a gift to something you are passionate about, we highly encourage you to do so!

Do I need previous experience in fundraising?

No! We simply require that ambassadors have a basic understanding of social media platforms and are, or will attempt to be, comfortable interacting with potential donors via digital avenues.

What qualities are you looking for in members?

Ambassadors should be people who have the University's best interest at heart and who are willing to engage in the development of TAMIU through crowdfunding and peer-to-peer fundraising.  We want people who are passionate about helping various areas across campus and who are not afraid to start that conversation with others.
