Western Hemispheric Trade International Bank of Commerce Keynote Speaker Series The Western Hemispheric Trade International Bank of Commerce Keynote Speaker Series presents practical and targeted lectures imparted by distinguished leaders, recognized experts and outstanding scholars in the trade and business arenas. The Series brings to the University individuals of exceptional accomplishment and expertise to enhance the academic experience of Texas A&M International University students, faculty and the community. Please join us on October 18, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center, Room 111. A. R. Sanchez, Sr. Distinguished Lecture Series The A R. Sanchez Lectures Series is pleased to announce Dr. Lightman as the guest speaker scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th, at 7 p. m. in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.
Dr. Alan Lightman, novelist, essayist, physicist, and professor, has taught physics and astronomy at Harvard University for over 20 years. He also teaches in the Writing and Humanistic Studies Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he is an adjunct professor. Dr. Lightman has published essays about science, articles and books including The Discoveries: Great Breakthroughs in 20th Century Science, Einstein’s Dreams, and The Diagnosis. He received his B.A. degree in physics from Princeton University in 1970, Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude, and his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1974.
