Department of Behavioral, Applied Sciences and Criminal Justice at Texas A&M International University seeks to achieve excellence in undergraduate and graduate academic instruction. The faculty are also dedicated to conducting research on important issues that may enlighten our understanding of human behavior and enhance our ability to serve the community at the individual and collective level within the framework of the dynamics of the society
1. Student Orientation: the Department of Behavioral, Applied Sciences and Criminal Justice will assist students in assist student in developing integrated and comprehensive knowledge within their discipline, maintaining multicultural awareness and competency, and utilizing articulate communication skills in both verbal and written expression of ideas. The department will further encourage students to employ well-developed critical thinking skills in evaluating ideas and theories across disciplines.
2. Faculty-orientation: The Department of Behavioral, Applied Sciences and Criminal Justice will actively support faculty development in the areas of teaching, research and other scholarly activities, as well as service within the university and Laredo community.
3. Administration and program Development-Orientation: The Department of Behavioral, Applied Sciences and Criminal Justice will work to support a streamlined organization and communication across disciplines, to facilitate intradepartmental cohesiveness and collaboration, and to allow for creative autonomy so that the Department may develop programs which address the unique needs of the TAMIU student collective.
