Field Placement Admission Requirements

1. Admitted to the College of Education (provide copy of admission letter)
2. Institutional GPA of 2.7
3. Spcialization/Major GPA 2.7
4. Successfully complete Block II
5. Submit Block III Field Placement Application
6. Submit Criminal Background forms and DPS form
7. Submit TB test result that are current for the year of field placement
8. Unofficial Academic Transcript
9. Degree Evaluation
10. Student Catalog with grades next to each course taken
11. All course substitution forms applicable to degree plan (if applicable)
12. Complete all specialization/major coursework
13. Complete three (3) hours of Test Preparation
14. Complete and pass TExES Generalist/Content Exam/s
    *All forms available in KL 431 A

• One week of pre-service at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU)
• 40 hours per week, for 12 weeks, of instructional classroom field time
• Full control fo the class for 3 - 4 weeks
• Turn in their lesson plans to theri classroom mentor on a weekly basis
• Mentors complete a field performance evaluation each week
• Professional Development Sessions and meetings with Supervisors
