Christopher Gonzales was born in 1989 and raised and educated in
Laredo. He graduated from J. B. Alexander High School as part of its
Health Science Magnet and while there decided to pursue dentistry.
With this goal in mind, he majored in chemistry and minored in biology
at TAMIU. While a student, he rejuvenated the Pre-Dental Society,
serving as its president for two years. He also participated in research
assistantships, one of which lead to publication of his work. During
his senior year, he was employed as a tutor at the University Learning
Center. Today, Gonzales graduates with a GPA of 3.94 and has been accepted to the Baylor College
of Dentistry. This summer, he will take part in a Baylor summer research program before beginning
his fall studies. Gonzales plans to return and serve Laredo and its surrounding areas as a dentist.

Mónica Celeste Aguilar, daughter of Sharon McWhorter and Johnny
Aguilar, was born inMissouri City,Tx and raised in the rural community
of Fowlerton. She graduated from McMullen County High School
in 2008. Today, she graduates cum laude with a Bachelors of Science
in Nursing from the Dr. F.M. Canseco School of Nursing with a 3.6
GPA. While a student at TAMIU, she was involved in the Student
Nurses Association and the Student Government Association. Aguilar
is a member of the University Honors Program, the Honor Society of
Phi Kappa Phi, and she has been invited to join the Canseco School of Nursing Honor Society. In
the future, Aguilar plans to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing and become an Acute Care Nurse
Practitioner.
