Our University is uniquely positioned to offer your student all the benefits of both a small college
and a major university. Your student will have a choice among several degrees available
from the College of Arts and Sciences, the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business, the College
of Education, and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Each emphasizes the use of
knowledgeand skills for successful international workforce interactions that preparegraduates
for the global marketplace.
Our four colleges are accredited by the Commission of Colleges and Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools that monitors the effectiveness and the quality of the programs of
institutions of higher education.
Your student must request an admission application to
TAMIU
at the beginning of his or her
senior year in high school. It is an easy process and there is no application fee!
TAMIU

review class rank and standardized test scores (SAT/ACT).
All freshmen applicants must:
•Apply at
www.applytexas.org
•Submit official high school transcript with numerical class rank
•Submit SAT and/or ACT scores
•Submit official transcript from any college attended for dual credit
•Early high school graduates must submit a letter of completion from counselor.
Admissions
What is the next step?
Admission applications are reviewed individually; once all paperwork is submitted, admission
decisions aremade and each student is notified via postal mail. Applicants who do not meet
the requirements are encouraged to retake standarized admission tests (SAT/ACT) in order to
be re-considered for admission.
