MINOR IN SOCIOLOGY
Sociology is the study of social life and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. A minor in Sociology complements many majors by developing student's understanding of the nature of society and social relationships as these affect them in their personal and professional lives.

The general objectives of this program are to provide the student with:
1 An understanding of the causes and consequences of social inequality;
2 An understanding of the forces of social change; and
3 An understanding of how race, gender and social class affect an individual's life chances.

Required courses:
SOCI	1301	Introduction to Sociology
SOCI	1306	Contemporary Social Problems and Social Policy
SOCI	4301	Sociological Theory

One course chosen from:
Any 3000-level Sociology Course
Two courses chosen from:
Any 4000-level Sociology Course

*Students should substitute a 3000-level course if they have taken SOCI 1301 as part of the core required courses.
