Dusty's Junior University Summer Camp 2019

STEAM Art is merging with science and technolo- gy. Campers will have the opportunity to be creative and artistic while constructing engineering projects. They will improve their critical thinking skills while solving everyday problems. Campers will have to come up with solutions while working together as a team. Some of the projects include Lego model build- ing and K’nex manipulation in simple pulley systems. Session 1, Block 4 Session 2, Block 4 Session 3, Block 3 Session 4, Block 3 Earth’s Biosphere: Oceans, Deserts, Rainforests Did you know plants could hear? They can also see and smell! What’s more interesting than learning about the wonders of our planet? Campers will be intrigued as they learn new facts about our planet. They will learn about different types of carnivorous plants, microor- ganisms that strive in extreme conditions, and other organisms that live in Earth’s Biosphere. Session 3, Block 1 Session 4, Block 1 Road Trip Adventure Road trip fun! Campers will be packing their suitcases and traveling the world in just a short span of two weeks. Campers will learn about the different countries, what is popular in each country, and learn and discuss the variety of music, food, and clothing. Session 3, Block 3 Session 4, Block 3 Princess and Prince Charm School Do you know what it takes to be royalty? Campers will learn the proper etiquette that a Princess and Prince use in their daily lives. Campers will learn to practice polite behaviors, such as how to properly eat a meal, follow a dress code and even polite phrases. They will discover how to walk and talk just like royalty. Session 1, Block 1 Session 2, Block 1 Extreme Sharks & Sea Creatures Let’s dive in to see how our sharks and sea creatures live! Campers will gain insight about what they eat, and how they survive daily. They will learn the names of some of the famous sharks and our favorite sea creatures. It’s Shark week here at TAMIU Junior U! Session 3, Block 4 Session 4, Block 4 Biology Explorers Campers will become biologists for 2 weeks. Students will learn about cells, plants, the animal life cycle and much more! They will explore the wonders that Biology has to offer other than the Human body. Activities will follow each lesson.
