PROGRAM

Why major in music at TAMIU? MISSION STATEMENT 

Upon graduating from our program, our students will be:

  • Musicians with the highest performing skills possible, capable of making critical decisions toward effective communication to their students and audience.

  • Musicians who are life learners, prepared for a career in the ever-changing musical world of the 21st century

  • Musicians who participate actively collaborate with faculty in research and performances.

  • Musicians who are trained to think critically and incorporate the diverse elements of their training into their musical endeavors.

  • Musicians who are prepared to educate future musicians and foster an appreciation of the diverse musical culture of the world
