About Us
The College of Arts & Sciences launched a new resource to help students succeed in higher education and achieve their academic and professional goals. Comprised of a team of Student Success Specialists, Student Enrichment & Advancement aims to equip students with success strategies for self-advocacy, skills development, and self-directed learning through individualized, holistic support.
Our Purpose:
The College of Arts and Sciences’ Student Enrichment and Advancement is dedicated to helping students navigate higher education:

Services:

Advocacy: Ongoing support through timely and direct communication.

Guidance: In-depth discussion of academic progress, performance, and individualized degree planning.

Activities: Strategic, hands-on workshops and presentations.

Resources: Access to and leverage of student success-centered resources.
Advising Appointments
As of Fall 2021, all students pertaining to Student Enrichment and Advancement, have been assigned to a Student Success Specialist. A student’s assigned Success Specialist is visible on Degreeworks or may be verified by emailing askcoas@tamiu.edu.
Please note: All appointments available are based on Central Time. Please do not change time zone settings while scheduling an advising appointment.

Office of Career Services: Students (or staff that have an A-number) would need to schedule an appointment with a Career Advisor either by emailing careerservices@tamiu.edu or calling the office of Career Services at 956-326-4473, and the career advisor would then conduct the assessment either face-to-face or virtually.
