Professional Experience:
2005-Present Assistant professor of psychology at a Hispanic-serving university
Texas A&M International in the Texas A&M system. Primary teaching and research focuses
University on forensic and clinical psychology, social psychology and media
violence issues.
2004-2005 Assistant professor of psychology at a regional university in the
University of Wisconsin University of Wisconsin system. Responsible for design and
Whitewater administration of courses in psychology. Also responsible for
assisting in the development of a forensic sciences minor at the
university.
2002-2003 Mental Health Worker in a correctional facility for the greater
Orange County Corrections Orlando area. Conducting psychological assessments as well as
engaging in individual therapy with an inmate population. Student fellowship arranged in conjunction with University of Central Florida.
2001-2002 Therapist in a facility for the long-term care of adolescents with
University Behavioral behavior problems. Conducted psychological assessments,
Center conducted intake interviews and engaged in individual and
group therapy. Student fellowship arranged in
conjunction with University of Central Florida.
2000-2003 Psychology instructor responsible for conducting
Valencia Community undergraduate classes within the department of psychology.
College Responsible for all facets of class administration including
lecture design, test design and administration, grading and
student advisement.
2000-2001 Conducted program evaluation and empirical research for hospital
Arnold Palmer Hospital based treatment program for sexual abuse. Designed and facilitated
treatment outcome research and assisted in refining therapeutic
procedures utilized at this facility. Student fellowship arranged in
conjunction with University of Central Florida.
