TAMIU Fall 2021 Commencement Program

DISTINGUISHEDSTUDENT SCHOLARS Xiomara I. Flores is the daughter of José Alfredo Flores and Xiomara Rendon. She graduated from Roma High School in 2018. Today she earns a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, majoring in Mathematics and graduating magna cum laude. While a student at TAMIU, she was a member of Sigma Delta Lambda Sorority Inc., and served in various roles including President for 2020-2021. Xiomara is also a member of TAMIU’s Mathematical Society and worked on campus in the Office of Recruitment and School Relations. Xiomara Flores College of Arts & Sciences Gabriel Rodríguez, Jr. is the son of Rosalinda E. Rodríguez and Gabriel Rodríguez. Today, Gabriel earns his Bachelor of Music Education, graduating summa cum laude. He has earned several scholarships and honors while at TAMIU, including the Presidential Transfer Scholarship, the Fine and Performing Arts Scholarship and the Benavides Zuñiga Scholarship for Education. He has appeared on the Dean’s List and is a member of Nation- al Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi. He is a passionate music educator and has performed with the world-renowned Blue Dev- ils, worked with several band programs state-wide, and is co-founder of the local nonprofit performing arts organization, Laredo Independent Indoor Winds. Upon graduation, Gabriel plans to work as a secondary school band director. His long-term goal is to become a music arranger, visual designer, and creative director. Gabriel Rodríguez, Jr. College of Arts & Sciences Born and raised in Laredo, Adlu is the eldest daughter of Jorge and Luz González. She attended United South High School, graduating in 2018. Today, she earns a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management, graduating magna cum laude with a 3.7 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, she was a member of the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business Dean’s Student Advisory Council and The National Society of Leadership and Success. She also participated in three consecutive H-E-B Store Operations Management Internships and completed community service at Discover TAMIU and the Feast of Sharing. She received the Sanchez Family Foundation Scholarship, the Texas Community Bank Endowment, and the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship. Upon graduation, Adlu will begin her professional career as an Operational Store Leader with H-E-B. Her longtime goal is to become a Top Store Leader. Adlu Zoeth González A. R.
