Julissa Bueso College of Education Originally from Laredo, Texas, Julissa Bueso is the daughter of Verónica Gonzalez and Oscar Bueso and a graduate of Lyndon B. Johnson High School. Today, she earns a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching, with a concentration in Bilingual Education, graduating summa cum laude with a 3.950 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, Julissa was a member of TRiO Student Support Services, the Bilingual Education Student Organization, and served as secretary and president of the Texas Association of Future Educators Chapter. She also completed clinical teaching internships at local elementary schools. She received the Gold TAMIU President’s Service Award and the Charles Butt Scholarship and was recognized on the university’s Dean’s List. Upon graduation, Julissa plans to pursue a master’s degree in the field of psychology or counseling and begin working as a teacher. Her longtime goal is to earn a doctorate. Anahí Estrada College of Nursing and Health Sciences Originally from Laredo, Anahí Estrada is the daughter of Rosa Isela Estrada and Juan Estrada Carranza and a graduate of the Hector J. García Early College High School. Today, she earns a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, graduating magna cum laude, with a 3.821 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, Anahí was a member of the National Student Speech and Language Hearing Association, the University Honors & Undergraduate Research Program, and participated as a Student Tutor at the Academic Center for Excellence. She received the Oscar Laurel Family Scholarship and Speech and Hearing Research Scholarship. Upon graduation, Anahí plans to pursue a doctorate degree in Audiology.
