DISTINGUISHED STUDENT SCHOLARS Alejandra Flores A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business Originally from Laredo, Texas, Alejandra Flores is the daughter of Jose Angel and Teresa Flores and a graduate of Cigarroa High School. A proud first-generation student, she earns a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, graduating summa cum laude with a 3.9 GPA. Alejandra demonstrated strong leadership as Vice President of the A.R. Sanchez School of Business Dean’s Student Advisory Council and as Chair of the Student Government Association’s Leaders Organizing Volunteer Events Committee. Her commitment to service extended internationally through programs in Costa Rica and South Korea, supporting community development efforts and earning four Gold President’s Volunteer Service Awards. Alejandra interned with Cerda, Teran & Associates, earning a full-time role as an Accounting Associate. Upon graduation, she will relocate to Houston to begin her professional career in an Audit & Assurance position with Deloitte. Michael Brandon Inocencio College of Arts & Sciences Originally from Bruni, TX, Michael Inocencio is the son of Verónica Lorraine and Elsa Nelda Inocencio. He attended Bruni High School in Bruni, TX. Today, he earns a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduating summa cum laude with a 3.9 GPA. While a student at TAMIU, Michael was a member of the Evolutionary Visual Lab, the Brain Cognition Lab, and S.G.A. LOVE. He presented research nationally at the Human Behavior and Evolution Society and NEEPS conferences and completed over 250 hours of community service. He was a recipient of the Laredo Area Community Foundation Award, the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and earned recognition on the Dean’s List in his last semester. Upon graduation, Michael plans to pursue a graduate program in Counseling Psychology and become a Licensed Professional Counselor. His longtime goal is to serve underserved communities, challenge stigma around mental health, and expand access to care for marginalized populations.
