Dr. Uribe

Dr. Marcela Uribe

Dr. Marcela Uribe has more than 10 years of experience in the field of service-learning in various capacities. Prior to her position at TAMIU, Dr. Uribe worked as a research assistant for a service-learning project that supported literacy for immigrant women in Virginia. For 3 years, she was the graduate assistant for Leadership Tech, at Virginia Tech where she built leadership capacity for students as they worked with community organizations.

Currently, Dr. Uribe is the founding Director of the Service-Learning Center. Her role focuses on supporting faculty in the development of service-learning courses. She is the liaison between faculty and community partners.

In her free time, Dr. Uribe likes walking, going to the movies, and yoga classes.

Ms. Perez

Ms. Cihtlalli G. Perez
Outreach Coordinator
Ms. Cihtlalli Perez has worked at the Service-Learning Center for over 3 years. Prior to working at the Service-Learning Center, she was a graduate research assistant at the PROF Center at TAMIU. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and an M.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M International University.

Currently at the Service-Learning Center, she provides support to service-learning courses and helps organize the Service-Learning Expo.

In her free time, Ms. Perez likes to take her puppy on walks, listen to music, play with her cats, and cook.
