The Office of Community Engagement & PROF Center at TAMIU seeks to support, facilitate, and promote collaboration between the University and local and global community partners. Community partnerships are enhanced through academic experiences, such as service-learning, continuing education, literacy partnerships and research, among others. Our intent is to encourage and assist civic engagement efforts occurring throughout the University and to create new opportunities for partnerships with our community.
The Office of Community Engagement & PROF Center- based on the principles of reciprocity and civic responsibility- seeks to:
Enrich scholarship and enhance the curriculum for students, faculty, and staff.
Sustain reciprocal community and academic partnerships between TAMIU and the community, locally and internationally.
Provide a central archive of resources and provide guidance on civic engagement for students, faculty, and staff.
