How and when can I apply for financial aid?
Step 1:
Apply for a PIN online at
www.pin.ed.gov

(You will need one for you and another for
your student.)
Step 2:
Complete the FAFSA online at
www.fafsa.gov

Make sure to have the following:
• Your most recent Federal Income Tax Return and W-2 form(s)
• Your student’s most recent Federal Income Tax Return and W-2 form(s),
if applicable
• Other untaxed income record such as Social Security benefits, TANF, welfare,
and/or Veteran’s benefit records

Step 3:
Check application status. The application takes about 5-10 business days to process
if filed and signed electronically.
