Make a Difference is the largest single-day of volunteering in the country. On the fourth Saturday of October, millions of volunteers around the world unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others. Make A Difference Day is a day to celebrate the power of people to make a difference.
OCTOBER 28, 2017
7:30 a.m. - Check-in and parking at El Metro Downtown (1301 Farragut St.)
8:00 a.m. - Welcome
8:10 a.m. - Sing alma mater and fight song
8:15 a.m. - Transportation to project site (Azteca Neighborhood)
8:30 a.m. - Start service projects
12:00 p.m. - Transportation to El Metro (checkout) and lunch
Online registration is now available. Please make sure to complete your application to ensure the day of event process is fast and efficient. Remember you are responsible to make sure to add the organization which hours will be credited. If you are not yet an active member of the organization please make sure to request membership before Make a Difference to account for service hours. If you are not a member of a student organization, but want service hours credited to your student record, please request membership to Trailblazer program. The SCCE team will grant membership as soon as possible and credit hours upon completion of service event.
We are finalizing projects and will communicate with students who have pre-registered about first-come-first-serve opportunities. For this, we encourage you pre-register as soon as possible.
In 2010, Texas A&M International University established its first Make a Difference event. Over 150 students gathered to serve the Laredo-Webb community to make a difference.
