Covid-19 Update for Fall 2020

Greetings, Dustdevils! We hope you are ready for the Fall 2020 semester and are ready to continue (or begin) your academic journey. As we begin the semester, you will see that the Writing Center has changed a bit in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In our new "normal," we each have to work together to keep each of us safe. Here are the new/updated precautions, procedures, and services going forward:

  1. The Writing Center now offers virtual tutoring with Microsoft Teams. Virtual tutoring is by appointment only. Schedule your appointment here: https://rebrand.ly/tamiuwc-vtutoring.
  2. Face coverings are required to receive services. If anyone refuses to put on a face covering, they will be asked to leave the center and request Online Assistance or Virtual Assistance.
  3. Plexiglass shields have been installed all across the center (tutoring floor, computers, and reception areas).
  4. We ask that anyone using Writing Center spaces (computers, tables, etc.) wipe down their respective workspace before and after use.
  5. Hand sanitizer and wipe dispensers are available.
  6. Air purifiers are located in two areas of the Writing Center.
  7. Students are welcome to use our space to study and work; though, we have limited availability of computers and study areas in order to encourage social distancing.
